The Green Ethic – energy efficient, water – stingy buildings are full of features that stress the natural over the chemical, the recycled over the new, and the renewable over the finite. LEED building construction is firmly established in the corporate and government mainstream.  The federal government and many states require new public buildings to meet the Green Building Council's LEED standards (Leadership In Energy and Environmental Design), which requires nontoxic building materials among other things.  Some cities now have fast-track permit procedures for owners to commit their project to Green certified standards.

The goal of a LEEDS project is to incorporate sustainable design and construction practices into each project while keeping an awareness of the environmental needs, functions, maintenance and economical resources of the client.  Owner's have found that Green technologies and construction materials adds no more than 2 to 5% of the total cost, a premium quickly recaptured by energy savings.

Green Buildings has gone beyond image.  Corporate and government has noticed unique value of Green buildings beyond energy savings.  Some owner's have noticed less absenteeism, less employee time lost due to asthma, allergies and other illnesses aggravated by mold, stale air found in conventional buildings.

Designing, building and occupancy a high performance building requires substantial knowledge, experience and commitment from all members of the Team. This is regardless of whether a project is going for LEED certification or just using the LEED Rating System as a guideline.

Wilkie brings the skills and expertise necessary to achieve our client's goals for substantial high performance buildings.  We strive to work with other members of the project Team to strike a delicate balance of project costs vs. environmental intake.

Our goal is a commitment to bring responsibility and positive results to our client's projects to our company and our environment.
